REST
Happy Friday 5! The deception of life is to distract you from living in your purpose. The ongoing list of things to do, places to go, and the thirst to achieve keep us caught up in a vicious cycle of stress, worry, financial ruin, anxiety, depression, and so much more. In these times, it’s not more we need to do; it’s less. The heaviness you feel results from running life’s race with too many bags. Instead, we must stop and get back to basics and pay attention to our emotional, physical, mental and spiritual well-being. Rest is a chance to unpack, cope, lighten your load, and eliminate things that no longer serve you. Here are five things to make room for when you lighten that load:
1.
Self-awareness: Rest and reflection
allow us to stock our thoughts, feelings, and desires and better understand
ourselves. You will never figure out where you’re going if you don’t know where
you came from.
2.
Emotional release: Rest gives us the
space and time to process and release any pent-up emotions, which can be cathartic
and healing. A good cry or scream can be freeing.
3.
Mental and spiritual preparation: By
taking the time to rest and reflect, we can better prepare ourselves to tackle
the challenges and tasks that lie ahead. If we’re carrying stuff, let’s carry the
right stuff that helps us fight life’s battles.
4.
Renewal and Rejuvenation: Rest allows
us to recharge our batteries and return to our daily lives feeling refreshed
and ready to take on whatever comes our way.
5.
Inner Peace and Clarity. Rest brings a
sense of calm and clarity to our minds, allowing us to make more mindful and
deliberate choice
